Xavier's 2 Years Old Celebration

this time the celebration was a mini one, but we did a calculation and found that we will have spend as much money if we throw a party for xavier. well, lesson learnt.. haha..

went to swensen for lunch and cake on the actual day, 9 aug 2010, with the grandparents, sil & children. my bil was on business trip. enjoyable lunch though with minor hiccups. samson & i selected a ice-cream cake for him and since it was the actual day, xavier had a complimentary ice-cream from swensens.. yummy :)

after that we went to eric's house, where the guys took more than an hour to bring back our dinner. no choice, national day is a holiday and people were pouring into every restaurant and eatery. did not take much photos as we were all busy eating.. haha..

Yorick's 99th Days Old Celebration

we had one for xavier's 101 days old, but my dear hubby did a miscalculation and instead we had it on yorick's 99th days. anyway, just a mini celebration for the 4 of us. the cake was brought from 'the icing store' at jurong point. it was nice. i think i will get mine from there, provided i have decided to celebrate my birthday. lolz..

E: A Day in Sentosa Siloso Beach

samson & i decided to have a pre-celebration of xavier's 2 years old birthday and headed to Sentosa on 6 Aug 2010. we went to Siloso Beach, Underwater World & Universal Studio. i guess i have alot of fun at the beach as compared to the other twos, as it is the first time that xavier has played with the sand and sea. not that we don't want him to play with it, but singapore doesn't really have clean beaches (at least in my view). haha..

at first, he was kinda reluctant to go and let his feet touch the sand. samson & i were trying hard to persuade the poor kiddo and slowly lure him. it was a hot day and the sand are biting our feet. nevertheless, we managed to find a shady spot and started playing there.

xavier enjoyed using the beach toys we bought and kept destroying the sand statues that samson made. you can hear it from his laughter and samson's complaint. brought him to the sea and we were all splashing towards each other. we kept going to and fro the sand and sea. the pic i like most is the one where samson and xavier 大手牵小手 walking towards the beach.

wonder when will we bring yorick with us as well... hmm...

recently, xavier has been throwing tantrums often, perhaps either he is in the 'terrible two' stage, or bcos of his bb bro or he is still trying hard to adapt to the childcare life. whatever the reason is, it can be quite tiring to handle a toddler who cried alot, and screaming the top of his lungs.. lolx..

mummy is learning ways to handle his tantrums, at times where it is getting too overwhelmed, she will just step back and leave him alone, keeping her sanity in place. however, he is still mummy's sweetheart cos the bubbly nature of him is still within him and she loves seeing him smiling, dancing and playing away :)

i guess all have to agree that a child at his baby stage is the most adorable time of his life.. everyday, just can't get enough to see his smiling face, and trying all means and ways to get that sweet and assuring smile from the child i loved.

so far yorick is still quite a nice baby, i mean he will kick a fuss when hungry or sleep (trust me, when he is hungry, he can cry out loud like his bro) and having a bit of sleeping problem, but he will self-entertain himself after you meet his needs. he is kinda active too, like to 'talk' to you when awake and easily returns you a hearty laugh.

E: Crying Moments

Xavier is always termed by me as a Crying Baby, since young, he always has the loudest voice among those who arrived to the world around the same time as him. The nurse who took care of him during his jaundice time commented that he cried the loudest among those inside. *Shake Head*..

As he grows older, he like to use his crying as protest for not getting the stuff he wanted, e.g. pacifier, foods etc. My mother and mil said his temper is very bad.. In general, they always comment '你哭就赢了'.. Lolx..

The crying episodes with me around will start off with loud 'WAH' and then with the koala-style hugging, not letting me go... Not to forget the teary eyes.. But to train him, I got to be hard, so tried to scold him (it makes it worse), and now to keep repeating myself saying 'Mummy here, what do you want?' or 'I'm not scolding or beating, tell me what you want' etc.. It will work sometimes, provided I have not throw temper yet.. Lolx.. Guess really lots of patience to train him.. Samson said he like to 撒娇 upon seeing me.. Haha..

E: Family Getaway 8 - 10 Mar 2010

My parent-in-law went to Taiwan for holiday from 5 to 11 Mar, so have decided to take a short break from work and made use of the office's subsidiary for a hotel stay in Sentosa for our own family. This is the first time bringing Xavier to stay in hotel. Was having a headache what to pack for him since like so many thing to bring, milk powder, diaper, clothing, pacifier, pillows etc..

Well, thought of bringing the big luggage so that can pack the whole family's stuff together but Mr Samson doesn't like the idea and insisted that to bring a small one, then an extra one for mummy's clothing.. A last minute packing since both Samson & I were damn lazy and wait wait wait.. Hehe..

Went to the Harbour Front McDonald there for breakfast and Xavier kept using his fork to eat my breakfast. Luckily I ask Samson to get me the deluxe version.. Lolx.. If not nothing much for Xavier liaoz..

We went to the Underwater World first before checking in. Xavier was rather keen when coming to see a pond when can touch the sea creatures inside but the pond is too deep for him so we only let him touch the water surface. I managed to touch one or two, and but din manage to recognize the name of the creature. Wonder it is a catfish, one for sure if stingray?! Then we let him walk the tunnel but he is kinda scared due to the darkness. We also try letting him walk into a mini hole, but guess he is slightly taller than the entrance and dun know how to lower his head when walking in and out. 'Knocked' his head and was terrified. Lolx..

Then we proceeded to the Skytower but Xavier this time round is not so keen, he only look look then sit down and wave to the attending lady. Other than that he is just stone, not sure is it bcos he is tired or so..

Well, the hotel booked was Siloso Beach Resort cos when doing booking that time, we din really look into the hotel at the new Resort World and dun think they are available for booking.. Anyway, before having this sonny of mine, Samson & I have stayed in this resort twice for a couple time.. But that time we booked the room with a open jacuzzi tub. This time round, it is really a simple room with queen size bed. Then the room is bigger than our previous room and much area for the sonny to roam and play.. He almost ransacked the whole room.. Haha..

Brought Xavier to the swimming pools for a swim and guess he is really enjoying it, especially keep pointing to the slide where Samson & I both knew that he is wanting to go down the slide.. Haha...

The next day, we brought him to take the tram and he is kinda still, perhaps it is his first try. Told him to hold on to the seat in front, which he did, and later holding my hand up, asking me to hold on also.. Haha..

We went to the Resort World, but too bad the Universal Studios is not opened to public. I thought there is still the $10 entry, but guess it is only available quite sometimes ago. Nevertheless, we made our way and bought some chocolates from the Hershey's shop, then to the Casino.. Really people mountain people sea.. Haha.. But Xavier is too beaten up and ask for his pacifier and pillow to doze off.. Went back to hotel room and called room service instead.. After which, the 3 of us doze off to sleepland.. Haha..

After napping, we went for another swim, this time Samson teaching Xavier to kick in the water. Still not too prefect, but at least the sonny was enjoying himself..

Went outside to watch the fireworks from the Magic of Sea, but Xavier is still terrified of the sound and not enjoying the fireworks lights.. Maybe gotten to wait till he is bigger to learn to appreciate..

Last day not much activities, wake up, breakfast, Xavier sleeping, we packing, then home sweet home. But Samson & I took photos when Xavier is sleeping cos realised we haven't took photos with only the 2 of us in it.. Haha..

Wonder when can we have another family getaway again?! Hope not too far.. Lolx :)

E: Quick Update

ok ok, mummy did not do a good job on keeping track of the milestones of xavier's growth, like now he is having quite a couple of teeth growing, and really turning him into a biting monster, and starting to resist his tooth wipes. but this sonny can still try to be funny when he saw me taking out the wipes and ran/hide away. haiz.. he will start to scream and cry when mummy put the finger with tooth wipes into his mouth. revenge from him? of cos, by biting the finger hard..

he is still not really into the toothbrush cos he dislikes the idea of inserting the brush into his mouth, but like to ask for it when seeing the parent brushing. lolx.. and also been trying to wean him off the pacifier but in vain. hope that he can kick the habit when turning two.

xavier learn to walk around 13-14months. before that i was so thrilled to find him standing up himself and hold onto for a few seconds before falling onto his bum, laughing away. now really is chasing him behind since he is walking and 'running' fast.

speaking wise, he is still not good with it. so far he can said 'mum mum (eat), ah ma (grandmother), mama (me), ah gonggong (grandfather)' quite clearly, but there are some words can make out is like apple, cat, car. ya, a bit slow but i think he is moving on, so not to pressure him too much.. lolx.. however, he does understand when u ask him go toilet, bath, put thing back etc. and doing the sign language taught by mummy and daddy, like gorilla (fist hitting chests), elephant, rabbit, fish etc. and pointing to the correct picture when asking him to.

his favourite show now is 'Hi-5' and 'Baby can Read', but he also watching other shows like what his parents is watching. when watching hi-5, he can be happily dancing away... so cute..

recently his health is not so good, been down wif flu, cough and fever easily.. not sure if it is bcos of the teething. he is currently stuck with diarrhea, and the doctor told daddy that currently there is virus going on.. so got to watch him carefully. have to build up mummy's knowledge in brewing tonic soup and healthy foods etc to ensure he is in better health.. somemore planning to send him to childcare centre soon which virus can be capture more easily..

ok, that is for now.. will try to update more again.. =)

E: Xavier's First Birthday

our dear xavier has finally reached his 1st birthday. have invited the 2 families, the normal grp of friends of samson, and 3 friends from mine to join in the fun of celebration..

xavier was dressed up for the day, with a smart shirt and pant, plus tie which was taken out later cos it is too long and making him more hot. his mummy was of course drenched with sweat and was sweating away like no one's business.. haha :P

his cousins were happily playing in the playzone with all the toys and balls inside.. cousin tingle simply took xaiver's little mickey mouse and held it throughout the celebration.. cousin zhongen and yien were also enjoying themselves under the supervision of their mother who needed to make sure that her darlings will not get into trouble.. hehe..

samson's father mentioned that he can't come in the first place cos he needed to go to another place for some farewell party.. but guess his grandson's face big big, so i got a shock when i saw my fil coming into the hse, though later than the rest of the family members.. and he also bought his big big camera to take some shots..

before the cutting of the cake, i was too careless and let xavier give his birthday cake a big kick.. haha.. there was a hole in the cake.. luckily it is at the back, so that the front of the cake still look nice and tasty.. everyone sang the birthday song and xavier was laughing all the way, and also having his first taste of the chocolate cake that we have brought for him..

xavier has learnt and been 'training' himself the art of crawling and messing the stuff around the house, and his fav item are still the pacifier and cap.. paranoid mummy is always worried of his bumping since there has been a few incidents liaoz, so you can find her always crawling like a turtle besides him.. haha ;p

last sat (13 June) was one of the most tiring day i ever had. cos papa got to go back to camp for work so left only xavier and me hanging around at home. i have to spent my morning by cleaning the hse quickly before xavier starting to throw his tantrums for the day.

all went well for the morning till late afternoon, i mean he had his fun time during bathing, ate his lunch (with some fuss), playing, napping etc. however, after his afternoon nap, all hell break loose... haha ;p

well, think maybe bcos he has his playmates (the cousins) at his grandmum's hse, and now facing only the busy (and tired) mummy, who needs to prepare dinner and housework, he has been wailing for my attention. i tried to distract him by putting his in the playzone with his toys, but the moment he was in it, he starting to look for me and then cried until my heart pain pain so carried him around..

the final straw is when i needed to take a bath before we proceeded to my mother's hse for the night over. i put him in his chair and on his baby video. as when i thought he will be quite contented with it, the wailing started when i walked away. when i walked back, he stopped and watched the video (though at times with gestures wanting to be carried).. after a short short period, thinking he was hooked to it, i walked away again. the wailing engine started. but this time i was determined and just went for bath..

during bathing, i can hear him crying and shouting despite the tv sound and the closure of the bathroom door. it is really loud, i was so scared the neighbours will call the police to report me abusing the child. hahahaahaa ;p

i quickly rinsed and dried myself a bit and just use the towel to wrap myself up (yes, only towel), after which rushing all the way out to him. he was all red in the face and crying fiercely. haha.. i immediately carried him and rush back to my room, drew the curtain down and place him in the bed. poor xavier was still 'hiccup-ing' from the cries.. when dressing up, i got to assure him that mummy is around and i only went to take a bath.. haha..

after that we headed to my mum's hse. in the taxi, he becomes the sweet little thing who cuddled me with his head on my chest, starting his blabbering. i simply love it everytime he does this.

i told papa abt it and he was laughing all the way.. guess should let him have more chances to spend the day alone with xavier .. let's see who will have the last laugh.. muahahaahahaaa ;p

last night went back to mil's hse for dinner.. when i carried xavier, the smell of 'zamba' flow into my nose but i can't find the 'wounded' area. thought might be his bottom pain again since last time my mil also put some there at the anus to ease the redness..

but then after the bathing and dressing of him by my mil, i smell it again.. after asking, then i realise that it is because of our dear missy Yien accidently hit him with the kitchen drawer, as my mil is in the living rm switching off the tv set.. i guess my dear son has his fair share of crying. poor xaiver..

the bump on the head is not very visible, and he looks ok when i left him with my mil this morning when i went for work.. hope the bump will go off soon and not affecting his development..

worried mum i am.. haha :p

I guess some of you might be wondering why I have created another blog for the family. As after viewing my infrequent updates of Xavier in my own blog, our dear Mr Samson Lim suggested that we should create one to update events and memories wholly for our family..

So, here it is.. Though I am not sure how frequently he (or I) will update this, but then perhaps it is a good start for us to record and remember the fun and joys we experience with our little prince..
